Word list and scoring
A transparent guide to the data behind the MyToolMint Word Unscrambler.

Dataset source
The list is generated from the English Speller Database / SCOWL American and British English size-60 spelling dictionaries, pinned to release 2026.02.25. The generated list contains 81,949 lowercase words from 2 to 21 letters.
How the list is prepared
The build process verifies pinned source checksums, keeps alphabetic entries, combines American and British spellings, removes duplicates, sorts the result and creates small initial-letter files that the browser can load only when needed.
Coverage and limitations
This is a broad spelling-oriented English list, not an official dictionary for any word game. It may include uncommon, regional or inflected forms and may omit words found in specialist or newer dictionaries. Proper names, punctuation and one-letter entries are excluded.

Copyright 2000–2026 Kevin Atkinson. SCOWL permits use, copying, modification, distribution and sale provided its copyright and permission notices appear in copies and supporting documentation. MyToolMint preserves the complete notice in THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES.md.
Tile scoring
Scores use a familiar generic set of English letter-tile values to help compare words. They do not include board bonuses, blank-tile rules or game-specific scoring changes. MyToolMint is not affiliated with or endorsed by any word-game publisher.

If a result looks wrong or a useful word appears to be missing, include the word and a reputable dictionary reference in a feedback report.
